I can see how using bikes is a smart thing, but skateboards? I guess you can grind down the stairs quicker than with a bike but otherwise I’d think any place accessible by skateboard should be just as easy to reach by bike.

Yes, exactly my thoughts. I don’t really see the benefit of having a skateboard, except maybe going up stairs (You’d have to carry your heavy bike) or maybe access areas where a bike is too large… Something like a basement area accessible only by an elevator or something like that. But all in all it seems like a pretty stupid idea, especially because a skateboard is not really a vehicle which allows you to cover great distances easily and fast resp. it’s simply not really a “mode of transportation”. Back when I was really a hardcore-skater I tried to go to school with my board, but a distance of 1,5km is not really fun on a board, especially if it’s not all “downhill”. (And I blame “Back to the Future” for even getting that stupid idea. :D )

Btw, sorry that your last comment on the other skateboard-pic got chewed up, it was marked as spam and when I tried to “unlock” it I accidently deleted it instead. My bad.

PS: And btw, with that backpack I wouldn’t try grinding down any rails (or attempt any trick at all). Your whole balance is usually askew when you have a backpack on your back, that extra weight really messes everything up.
